I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Popper (Now Milli)

Looking for a loyal friend? Have some love and confidence to share? Popper is a sweet and shy cattle dog who just wants to please her people. She can be timid at first, but once she learns you are safe she will happily snuggle beside you or send adoring glances across the room.

At approx. 3 years old Popper is way too smart to have accidents in the house, never chews up household items, goes to sleep by herself at night without any whining, and doesn’t mind sleeping late in the morning. She is too ladylike to pull on the leash and is willing to greet other dogs nicely, but will ignore them without a problem too. She travels easily in the car and enjoys exploring new places although she can use some reassurance around lots of strangers or loud noises.

Popper gets along well with other dogs! She is good with kids old enough to be gentle because rough handling scares her. She has not shown any interest in our indoor cat and was familiar with outdoor cats at her last home.  She used to live on a farm and did not do well with chickens, though.

Popper gets so excited when you come home that she “pops” straight up and down 3-4 ft in the air! We are practicing a calmer greeting by having her sit for a hug when you come home and she loves this new routine. Popper only needs kind words to accomplish training but she does love a treat and always takes it gently.

This loving lady does not go over dog gates in the house but if she is left unsupervised outside for a long period of time she can “pop” over low fences. She doesn’t run away but plants herself at a door or window trying to get back to her people. For this reason a backyard fence should be 5’ or more or she should be on leash with her person when outside.

Popper is an incredibly easy keeper who just wants a loving home where she can blossom. Are you the person to show her how safe and kind people can be? If so, she will reward you with all the loyalty and love in her tender heart.
