Where is your animal sanctuary?

Where is your animal sanctuary?

As we continue to build out on 83 acres of land in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, we are currently managing all of our homeless pet rescue operations remotely via our partnerships with animals shelters, a team of wonderful volunteers, our amazing community of foster caregivers and our smart, passionate staff.

Our free Animal Rescue Clinic and iinterim foster supply center are both located in the same space in Carrboro, North Carolina.

We hope to be running operations from the sanctuary in Spring of 2023.

How can I help to support Beautiful Together?

Thank you for asking! We would love any and all the help we can get! In addition to donating, we would love supplies from our pet rescue wishlist. We also have ongoing needs for volunteers, pet fosters and adopters – see our header menu for more!

We would also love for you to share our efforts to find homes for animals by amplifying posts on our Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary Group Page. And if you know someone who could be helpful to our organization in any of those ways, please do let us know!

Is Beautiful Together a 501(c)(3)?

Yes! We received our 501(c)(3) status with the IRS in 2015, filing as a non-profit organization focused on caring for the vulnerable and the voiceless. All monetary donations are tax deductible to the extent that the IRS allows. EIN: 47-4273597.

We are proud of our Guidestar Gold Seal of Transparency.

How do I become a foster caregiver, and what would be expected of me?

Foster caregivers save lives – and they are the backbone of our organization! We ask all potential fosters to apply first in order to become a foster caregiver. Our approval process includes conducting reference checks and asking follow-up questions to ensure that you are well prepared to begin fostering a pet.

Once approved, we will go over expectations for how to care for the animal you have preferenced – or who we have matched you to, based on your application. We ensure that you receive our foster caregiver manual and ask for at least a 2-week commitment to foster, unless there is a stated need for a longer timeframe based on the specific needs of our pets. We will then set you up with basic supplies to get you going – collar, leash, litter, food, bowls, crate and any medicines that may be needed, if applicable. And we support you every step of the way! How does the adoption process work and can I adopt from anywhere?

It’s wonderful that you are interested in adopting a rescue pet! The first step with us is to apply to adopt. We will review your application, do reference checks and ask some follow up questions of you. From there, you would meet the pet that you are interested in, either in person or virtually, and we would make sure you have as full a picture as possible about that animal. If it is a match, you would then sign our adoption contract, pay the adoption fee – and start your your new life with you adopted pet!

Adopters have traveled in from a number of different states to meet and bring home their pet. As long as you follow our process, you are able to adopt from anywhere!

When will you add horse rescue to your efforts?

As part of our build out of the sanctuary land, we will be clearing pasture, building fences, and adding a barn in order to house horses and donkeys that we will pull from kill pens, or inhumane environments, throughout the region – and beyond. We will work to rehabilitate and care for them until they are ready to be adopted.

If you are interested in being part of this rescue effort, please do reach out and let us know. At this time, we expect that process to begin in Summer of 2023, but we will update expectations as we move through this process!
