Dog owners often have no choice but to walk their pet, thus providing them with an excuse-proof daily dose of exercise. Further, American Heart Association released a research report endorsing dog ownership as a way of warding off cardiovascular disease.

People with pets are generally happier, more trusting, and less lonely than those who don’t have pets. Owning pets, particularly dog ownership, encourages more social interactions with their community. Pet owners also visit the doctor less often for minor problems.
