Since January of 2021, Beautiful Together has rescued almost 1350 dogs, puppies, cats and kittens from overcrowded animal shelters and inhumane situations throughout North Carolina.
As part of our program, we are operating a free Rescue Animal Wellness Clinic for homeless pets, which includes general wellness exams and treatment of common medical issues, as well as administration of vaccinations, necessary preventatives and snap testing.
In September of 2022, we were joined by two veterinarians who offered to volunteer their time, efforts, and expertise to our program. We were also able to
further activate volunteers who had wished to help with clinic operations. Volunteer roles include checking in animals for their appointments, holding
animals for vaccines and testing, managing data entry of medical records, transporting animals to and from foster homes for their appointments, and
engaging in additional vet assistant activities as needed.
This clinic has enabled us to offer more expedient and lower-cost medical care to our rescue animals. In addition, building a virtual triage program and documenting standard treatment protocols has been greatly effective in reducing suffering, and producing better outcomes, for rescue animals experiencing illness or trauma. In our experience, most animals leaving overcrowded shelters and inhumane situations need some sort of vet care - and sometimes extensive or prolonged care.
We wish to continue to build out this clinic to help even more rescue animals, as well as to hopefully open up services to other rescue operations, too. If you have experience with veterinarian medicine, or clinic operations, and you would like to assist with our free Rescue Animal Wellness Clinic, please let us know. We'd love to hear from you.
If you'd like to Donate to our clinic, we know that MANY homeless pets would greatly appreciate it!
