Our horse and donkey rescue began with a deeply bonded equine family: one horse, one donkey, and five miniature donkeys who had already been rescued and lovingly kept together. Their caregivers were seeking true sanctuary for them – a place where they could remain safe, supported, and together for the rest of their lives. Welcoming this special herd became the foundation of our equine program, and they now live peacefully in our pastures, receiving thoughtful care and the space to simply be.
Our horse & donkey rescue work will continue to grow. While this original family will stay with us for life, we will also rescue other horses and donkeys who need rehabilitation, healing, and a second chance. Once they are ready, we thoughtfully match them with adoptive homes that can offer the care and companionship they deserve.
Acres of pastureland are already in use with our current herd of seven, and even more are being built to create additional areas for grazing, comfort, companionship, and daily attention. Each new pasture reflects our commitment to giving every equine the room, respect, and calm environment they need.
Here at the sanctuary, our beloved farm animals receive attentive veterinary support, good nutrition, gentle handling, and abundant affection. Whether they remain with us for life or move on to a loving new home, every horse and donkey will be truly known, valued, and cared for.
