Years of Experience
Our rescue is dedicated to saving abandoned, neglected, and abused animals. We provide medical care, rehabilitation, and lots of love until they’re ready for adoption. With the help of our volunteers and supporters, we create brighter futures for every animal that comes through our doors.
Beautiful Together has been steadily expanding its Wellness Program and Rescue Clinic since late 2021, with a focus on improving medical care efficiency and accessibility for our rescue animals. Initially, we worked with a network of external veterinary clinics, but as our rescue efforts grew, we recognized an opportunity to develop a more sustainable, proactive approach to animal healthcare. By transitioning to in-house preventative care, we have been able to reduce emergent medical cases, shorten treatment timelines, and improve overall animal health, all while ensuring a compassionate, high-quality experience for the animals in our care.
In early 2023, we took a major step forward by designing and building an on-site veterinary clinic, housed in a 500-square-foot modified tiny home, carefully tailored to meet our growing medical needs. This space allows us to provide routine exams, vaccinations, testing, and preventative medical care in a calm, familiar environment, reducing stress on animals and helping us deliver more personalized, attentive care.
As we have grown, so have our veterinary capabilities. We have established an in-house diagnostic testing partnership, enhanced our veterinary and scheduling software, and expanded access to care by introducing telehealth veterinary services.
Today, our clinic is led by Dr. Bobby Schopler, our Veterinarian on Record, who oversees our two full-time Veterinary Care Technicians, Lauren Brooks and Breni Jimenez; our Foster Medical Coordinator, Vicki Waugh; and a dedicated team of clinic assistants, scribes, and volunteers. Our Clinic Strategist, Polly Purgason, helps guide the clinic’s continued growth, ensuring our systems, protocols, and daily operations evolve alongside the increasing needs of the animals we serve.
As an important next step, we are currently building a dedicated Kitten & Puppy Intensive Care Unit (ICU), creating a specialized space where our most vulnerable patients can receive immediate, life-saving medical support. The ICU will provide critical care capabilities—including oxygen therapy, incubator support, nebulization treatments, and intensive monitoring—giving fragile newborns, orphaned litters, and medically compromised animals the best possible chance to survive and thrive while laying the groundwork for our future veterinary hospital.
Looking ahead, our long-term vision is to build a fully equipped veterinary clinic at the sanctuary, allowing us to provide comprehensive, on-site medical care for every rescued animal in our care. As our capacity grows, we also hope to extend these services to the broader community by offering affordable, high-quality veterinary care to pet owners, helping families keep their beloved animals healthy while reducing preventable shelter surrenders.
By continuing to invest in veterinary medicine, we are creating a sustainable, life-saving model that strengthens animal welfare, expands access to care, and builds a healthier, more compassionate future for both animals and the people who love them.
