Piper

Piper has a gentle yet energetic spirit. She longs to please people and can get overwhelmed at the thought that she made you happy. She knows basic commands and responds best to treats and gentle reminders. Her best reminder is "gentle or easy" and she calms right down. She loves every persona and dog she's ever met, she can just struggle to know when to give people their space. As for her leg injuries, we have been working with her for the past 9 months to heal and come up with options. The vet has confirmed her best bet at a long and happy life is surgery. Even as she waits for surgery, she is happy and wants to be active. She's in good spirits and seems to be resting well when on medication. Piper's only behavior issues have ever been when she doesn't get to walk enough and we don't leave her enough toys out. She has chewed up shoes and clothes, but again only when not redirected well. Otherwise, she's been a great dog and loves being outside when the sun is out and absolutely hates the rain. She likes to have her head rubbed and her butt scratched and her favorite treat is pumpkin!
