Sapphire is a perfect kitty. His coloring is exotic, but his personality is homegrown. He has been in several living situations already in his short life, but his strong, playful, loving personality shines through. In new situations, he hisses (especially at the other dogs and cats in the house) and he hides behind furniture for a day or so. If a person comes up to him during that time, he is gentle and comfortable. After a couple of days, he's ready to explore the house and make friends with everyone. Once he feels comfortable, Sapphie likes to rub his face against yours, marking you as his person. It's so adorable. Sapphie is a purring lovbug who is good at reminding you to put down your phone and pet him.
He lives with his bonded buddy Tao, a 50-lb dog, and three adult cats, and he gets along with everyone really well.
He has big paws—huge paws—so I expect he will be a big cat when he's an adult. He's already bigger than his buddy Tao, who is almost a month older.
Sapphire was rescued from the Wake Co animal shelter where he was turned in with his three siblings. When his siblings were adopted, he was lonely and moved to a new foster home where Tao was living. (Tao's four siblings had all been adopted and Tao was lonely, too!) They became good friends right away. Tao and Sapphire were adopted by a lovely family but had to be returned to rescue (from no fault of the kitties or the adoptive family). Now Sapphire is four and a half months old and is looking for his forever home. Sapphire and Tao are bonded, and the two of them love to play together! Tao is generally the leader of the pack, but Sapphire tends to adapt to new environments more quickly. They make a beautiful pair.
You can't find a better kitten that Sapphire. I can't think of one unwanted trait he has. He's just perfect! Could Tao and Sapphire be right for you? Apply to adopt them today!
