I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Sophie

We're happy to tell you that Sophie has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Sophie Sue is a very pretty 1-2 year old girl - and at just 35-40 pounds she’s the perfect medium sized little lady. She’s curious and affectionate and playful without being high energy. Sophie has perfect manners - she knows sit, shake, down, other paw, roll over, and is VERY treat motivated!

She walks SO WELL on a leash (she’ll only pull if she spots a deer), will sleep quietly in her crate (though you have to pick her up to put her in it 😂), and is completely house trained - no accidents! She is quiet overall - we have only heard her bark a little! Noises don’t seem to bother her but she did let us know the UPS man was here with a package.

She seems to loves kids and wants to play with her foster mom’s ducks, but they aren’t interested. Currently Sophie is curious about other dogs, but will definitely need slow introductions and patience (not all of us make friends easily), but she truly LOVES people.

She’s curious about cats but hadn’t made any cat friends just yet; since she definitely displays prey drive we’ve been taking it slow.

Miss Sophie loves toys - she will toss them to herself 😂 And she doesn’t pull the stuffing out of her stuffed toys!!! She treasures them. This girl has no interest in a ball, but put her chewy under the blanket in her crate to save for later (we all love a good midnight snack). She really enjoys puzzle toys.

We are certain that Sophie Sue was someone’s girl - she’s very well behaved and someone taught her all these tricks! But after sharing her far and wide with shelters and lost and found pages no one has surfaced to say they are missing her. She was found in an area notorious for dumping 💔

But onward and upward! She’s ready for her very own family. I’ve been fostering for most of my adult life and I can’t remember having a dog easier than Sophie Sue.
