At only 25 pounds, this 8 month-old "mini" Great Pyrenees / Golden Retriever (?) mix is a super friendly, very loving pup who was found wandering the streets in Western North Carolina. This beautiful girl was heartbreakingly malnourished when first found and, although she has a very healthy appetite and is gaining weight now, she is still quite emaciated. It's hard to tell when looking at her because she is so fluffy - but when you pet her, you can feel just how painfully thin she is.
Zara LOVES being inside in a safe, warm house and shows a great deal of affection, thumping her tail as she sits as close to you as she possibly can for more pets! Zara has been learning house and leash training and is very eager to please - so she is picking it up quickly. She is also crate trained, which is a valuable skill for both her safety and peace of mind. She is shy and seems unsure if she is welcomed - but as soon as you assure her that she very much is, she is clearly deeply grateful for that. This sweet girl hasn't barked once since we pulled her from the shelter, is happy to see anyone, and is great with other dogs and cats, too, just wagging her tail the whole time!
