Hi, I'm Becca! I love giving kisses, napping on the couch, and going for long walks! I was found as a stray with my 2 puppies and am learning that life is good inside a house, and that humans can be trusted! My ideal owners will keep helping me build my confidence and teach me more tricks using positive reinforcement. I already know Sit and Come, I'm housebroken, and I get along well and am submissive with both men and women. I'm friendly towards kids too, but I have some puppy-like behaviors like jumping up when I want attention (sorry, sometimes I just can't contain myself!), so I might do best in a home with older children. For exercise, my foster family takes me on a couple of half-hour to hour long brisk walks each day: I'm great on the leash with no pulling, and I enjoy meeting and greeting the dogs we see along the way! I have been submissive with almost all dogs I've met so far, but for now I'd still appreciate being introduced to new canine friends slowly! On that note, I do have a strong prey drive so I should not go to a home with cats. I'm great in my crate during the day: I stay in it and go right inside when they toss a treat in (I think I've trained them well!), and only occasionally whine for a few minutes. I have to admit that I've howled when put in my crate at night recently – nobody told me I was going to be stuck in there! But I'm already so great in my crate during the day, I know it's only a matter of time until I understand it's a cozy nighttime sleeping spot too. My ideal owner will support me when I get a little worried about things: Sometimes I need extra coaxing to go through certain doorways, or I get shy about having the back of my neck or my backside touched. And it might take me a few minutes before I hit my stride and get comfortable at the beginning of my walks. But who can blame me, when my early life probably wasn't the most stable. I'm eager to get settled into my new furever home - could it be with you?
