Helllllo!!!! My name is Journey, and my foster mom says I am the nicest boy she has
met in a long time. I’m no dummy – I know that nice boys get all the treats and belly
rubs. I learned that from my first mom. She raised me right. When she got sick and
crossed the rainbow bridge, I was so sad. A kind neighbor knew I needed a soft place
to land, and lots of good people came together, and voila! Here I am! I settled right in
at this amazing place called a foster home. There’s lots of places for naps. I like that a
lot, because I’m no youngster. Don’t be fooled, though – my age doesn’t stop me from
some ridiculous (foster mom’s term) zoomies a few times a day. Walks are pretty fun,
too. And getting treats. Love me some treats. But the thing I love most of all is a belly
rub. My foster mom says they make me smile, and that makes her smile, too.
My mom would like to add a few things: Journey really is a sweet old man who wants
nothing more than a soft bed (or three) to nap in, short walks, belly rubs, and
companionship. He came to us fully house trained, and he does not have a destructive
bone in his body. He gets along well with our two senior female dogs. He still wants to
be playful for short bursts – he loves to grab his leash and take himself for a walk. (In
the name of full disclosure, he also loves to flop down mid-walk and demand belly rubs!)
He has some sight, but it is clearly limited. That doesn’t stop him from generally getting
along well, inside and out of the house. (He will occasionally miss a step or walk over an
obstacle that the other dogs just walk around.) Journey came to us with a bad skin
infection that is almost gone. He has some old man lumps and bumps, but no
discernible major health issues. He will be a lovely companion for the right family that
understands a senior’s needs (and gifts). I am happy to talk with you if you’d like to
know more about Journey!
