Meet Lyra, our newest rescue! This sweet 8-month-old Great Pyrenees mix is settling in and ready for her second chance at a happy life. Like other dogs found wandering the streets, Lyra was heartbreakingly thin and clearly in need of some TLC. At just 25 pounds, this little lady is still quite emaciated, though her fluffy coat does a good job of hiding it. Beneath the fluff, however, you can feel just how painfully thin she is.
But despite her past hardships, Lyra's gentle spirit shines through. She's incredibly friendly and loving, taking treats gently and adoring children. She's already house-trained – no accidents in the house! – and crate-trained, readily going into her crate without any fuss. While she's still working on getting comfortable with leash training, she's quickly learning to appreciate the perks of being a cherished family dog.
Just like other rescued pups, Lyra has her own adorable way of communicating – she makes the cutest little grumbles! Lyra is curious and eager to please, making her a wonderful companion. If you're looking for a loving and gentle new family member, Lyra might just be your perfect match.
