Meet Maggie!
Maggie is a lovable 1.5-year-old Aussie Doodle (Australian Shepherd–Poodle mix) with a heart as big as her energy. She originally belonged to a kind elderly couple who could no longer care for her, and now she’s ready to find her forever home.
Maggie is a social butterfly who gets along beautifully with other dogs—big and small—and would thrive in a home with a canine playmate. She’s also gentle and sweet with children, taking treats delicately and happily joining in on playtime. Her favorite games are fetch and tug-of-war, and her beloved frisbee is never far from her side.
This smart girl is fully potty trained, knows her basic commands, and has been respectful in the home—she sticks to chewing her toys and leaves furniture and belongings untouched. She’s also crate trained, though she hasn’t needed it in her foster home and much prefers cuddling on the couch or sleeping near her humans.
As an active and intelligent breed mix, Maggie will do best with a fenced-in yard and/or a family committed to giving her daily exercise and outdoor play. While she’s never shown signs of trying to escape, she absolutely lives for a good game of fetch outside.
She hasn’t been tested with cats yet, but she hasn’t shown any signs of aggression toward any creatures—she’s even been indifferent to a foster home’s temporary lizard guest! And when it’s time for affection, Maggie offers the gentlest little kisses.
Bonus cuteness: She responds to all sorts of adorable nicknames, including Maggers, Magpie, Maggie Poo, and Maggie Moo.
