I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Duncan

We're happy to tell you that Duncan has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Duncan is a 90lb "baby". At about a year old, he is a young bloodhound looking for a lifelong home.  He is a happy, active boy who is always curious, wants to play and cuddle, and knows basic commands like sit and stay. He is highly intelligent, food motivated, and wants to please and he is learning manners quickly. He is a hound so is driven by his nose. He is always up to chase a squirrel, bay at the neighbors, and sniff everything. Duncan is house-trained and his crate training is coming along nicely. He is now working on leash training! Did we mention that Duncan is always curious? He is tall and is also learning not to counter surf (or tall shelf cruise!). He loves to chew now as a puppy, so he is very interested in all his chew toys! He loves other dogs and wants to play with them whenever he can. However, he can be a little protective of his food and needs to be fed separately. He is fine with cats and pays them very little attention. He’s a big fan of people of all sizes. He likes children very much but given his size, he may be best suited to a home with children aged 10+. His bark is beautiful but loud, so apartment living is unlikely to suit him (or your neighbors). Duncan would love a high fenced yard as he adores being outside to smell all the smells and sleep in the sun. He has demonstrated he can use a dog door as well. He is GORGEOUS and very sweet, he’d be a wonderful addition for a family used to big dogs!

*Duncan is heartworm positive and his treatment is being covered by Beautiful Together. He is also healing from a broken leg injury and will make a full recovery. If adopted during treatment, Duncan will need to be brought to the Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary for vetting until treatment is complete.*
