I'm not quite ready to go to my new home.

Hi! My Name Is Pepsi

I'm in the Recovery Room - I'll Be Available Soon

Pepsi showed up to a property about three and half weeks ago and was barely 100 pounds. You could see the ribs and spine. He came right up to the car when called and I say he had a bathrobe tied around his neck too tight. I got a pair of scissors and cut them off. He immediately started wagging his tail and started licking. We knew we had to help. They got him in the garage and gave him a mix of puppy and adult food, about a half a cup every 2 hours. This was to help him from eating too fast. We did that for three days. On day two we took him in to see if there was a chip and to get an estimated weight, he came in at 102 pounds. After scanning all around they found no chip and said that there was little they could do to find his owner. So, we put him back in the truck and started by giving him a medicated bath to help with mange. You could tell from the first rinse he feels so much better. We kept him in the garage for five days just to make sure the dogs didn’t catch anything and to see how he would do with them. After about a week the ribs started to disappear, and the spunky personality started to show. We estimated that he was about 2 years old and still has the puppy side to him. To help him in the garage he found an old stuffed whale from a trip to SeaWorld and claimed it as his new toy. If he is laying down, he has it with him. It has been eating two times a day now and is getting more healthier with his weight. When we bought him a collar that fitted him, he was so excited. He enjoys his crate and that to him is where every toy goes that he claims. Tennis balls, stuffies, and ropes. He doesn’t like load and noisy toys. When you let him out to potty it is the funniest thing. If you aren’t next to him, he will come to find you and make you walk him. And if you are on a hammock or on a couch, then here he comes. He is a huge cuddle bug who doesn’t realize how big he is and wants to be in your lap. He is a Great Dane and Black Lab mix that needs a space and would go great with a military and veteran family. He is command trained and house trained. He enjoys walks and car rides with his head out the window.
