We know that sometimes life happens and people find themselves unable to properly care for their pet. It is undoubtedly a difficult decision to rehome a pet, so we hope to do our best to ensure your loved one gets the home they deserve.
Based on urgency and foster caregiver availability, Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary does take in pets surrendered by their owners. Please understand that because we have very limited resources, it's necessary for us to prioritize the animals we take into rescue. Shelter pets in imminent danger of being euthanized may be given first priority.
At the time of surrender please bring anything that belongs to the pet, such as a collar, leash, crate, bowl, bedding, and a favorite toy. Before the surrender, please do your best to ensure your pet is up to date on vaccinations. You may be asked to complete a surrender questionnaire, which will provide us with basic information. This will help ease their transition into foster care. Gather any of the pet's medical records to give to us. Vaccination paperwork is very helpful because it will avoid unnecessary duplicate vaccinations.
We know that surrendering your pet is a very difficult decision, but sometimes it is the only one to make. If you choose to surrender your pet, you'll be asked to complete a surrender contract. Your signature on this contract represents a permanent decision on your part. This legally binding contract gives full ownership of the dog to Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary. This allows us to provide veterinary care and down the road, legally adopt out the dog to a carefully pre-screened 'forever' home.
