We're hoping to find Rocky a family that has more experience with large dogs, and especially the Great Pyr breed. Rocky is a handsome young man and very sweet, but too much for us to handle.
Rocky knows the commands sit, down, quiet, paw, and let's go. He's good with kids and adults. He loves walks, the dog park, drives in the car, chasing a ball, his snuffle mat, and the splash pad. Rocky sleeps in his own little room all night, and is fine there for up to 4 hours during the day. (We haven't had to leave him longer than that since we work at home.) He got along with the cats in his previous home, but our cats are afraid of him because he is unpredictable...sometimes he'll be chill when he sees them, and other times jumps up to "greet" them.
On the 'cons' side: Rocky is getting better at loose leash walking, but needs more training-we tend to get dragged when he bolts after a rabbit. He has displayed fear aggression towards other dogs on walks 2-3x in the last 6 months, and while he is getting better at not jumping on visitors, he needs more training on that. Rocky does not like to have his anal glands expressed and needs to be put under for the procedure, but he's fine with the groomer and other vet procedures.
