Scout

Scout is a 2.5 year old heeler mix living in Asheville, NC. She is 45 pounds of energy, and she loves to run. She's fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and will let you know when she needs to go potty. Scout can be a little timid meeting new people, but she is a love bug once she warms up. Since moving to Asheville, Scout has decided she doesn't enjoy the company of other dogs, she much prefers people. We live in a small apartment where dogs are around every corner. With the constant presence of other dogs and lack of exercise, Scout is very pent up here. She's begun taking out her frustration on her lab sister, and we've decided it is no longer fair to keep her with us. Scout has a high prey drive, and her heeling instinct is very strong. With that being said, she needs to be the only animal in he home. She loves to play ball, be chased, go on hikes, and show off her skills. Scout knows the commands sit, down, shake, high five, focus, spin, tuck, and pose. She is still working on working politely on a leash. She wants nothing more than someone to play, exercise, and cuddle with. Scout is looking for someone who already lives an active lifestyle. She would do best in a small family, either a single person or a couple. Like most cattle dogs, she feels the need to round up small things, so she cannot go to a home with children. Scout needs to be in a home where there is routine, and she can know what to expect rom day to day life. She would benefit greatly from having a space to run. We are looking for people who own land that she could utilize, apartment life is not for her. Depending on location, we may be able to transport Scout to her new home. We will need to do a meet and greet with you before we decide to place her with you. I would like to have vet and personal references to make sure the home is right for her (I can send you a form after being contacted) We are asking a fee of $125, to ensure she is going to a committed home.
