Bathroom Renovation and Sanitary Improvement Project

Our 2015 Summer Campaign is dedicated to supporting Kidane Mehret Orphanage in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We are raising funds to purchase needed supplies for this orphanage that currently supports over 60 children of various ages. And to maximize local economic benefits to shopkeepers and contractors, we will be making all purchases and work agreements in-country to not only help the local economy but also maximize the value of the funds we raise.
The core project will provide the children of Kidane Mehret a clean and safe bathroom that they can use while they either wait for families or live at the orphanage ongoing.
The project involves completely renovating the bathroom. Renovation includes replacing the bathroom stalls to healthier, more sanitary options, as well as repairing the inner and outer walls where significant water damage has developed, to protect against mold. In addition, the project will open up the space so that there is a cleaner, more sanitary flow of water and sewage. And of course we will be adding a bright, fresh, clean coat of paint.
